Pair of Arrows

Pop. 143, Late Summer of 353 (Year 102)

The Evils of Spray once again stepped up their attacks. Elite archers have become more common, with one killing Ezumi Freeoil and Ingish II Claspletter, granddaughter of Edem II, in the most recent siege.





A massive enemy host had gathered at the east wall. The East Watch, with a few soldiers from the North Watch, battled their way to the bowgob, while the rest of the military guarded the trade tunnels. Two more dwarves would've lost their lives, but the defenders finally broke through the enemy lines and slew the goblin squad leader.

Atis Blockadetempted and Vucar Gillhandle were rescued, though they each had a pair of arrows embedded in them.



Apparently, Vucar got sick of staying in the hospital and crawled his way out before his treatment was truly finished. He was brought back to the hospital, diagnosed again, then given a crutch.

All That Junk

Mid-Winter of 352, (Year 101)

There was another junk-related accident. Iton Hatchetsearched and Vucar Gillhandle both managed to end up in the middle of the garbage dump while their fellow dwarves were throwing items in. Iton was killed, while Vucar lost a hand :(.



The surviving dwarf has no memory of the incident. It's possible that he fell in while the surrounding area was packed. Regardless, the lower level access stairs, rarely used for mistakenly discarded items, have been covered as a precaution.

Beware the Werelemur III

Pop. 153, Early Autumn of 350 (Year 99)

Only 2 years after the attack on Cilob Gillhandle, another civilian was ambushed by a werelemur.



Luckily there was plenty of help nearby this time for Sakzul Fissuretour, one of the best cooks of Relicshield.



Seeing a provider of legendary meals under attack filled the nearby dwarves with rage! The werelemur didn't stand a chance.



Bomrek Mergeddiamond, the oldest dwarf of Relicshield, struck the killing blow. Not bad for a 168 year old!

Beware the Werelemur II

Pop. 159, Mid-Autumn of 348 (Year 97)

There was another werelemur attack, but this time a civilian, Cilob Gillhandle, was bitten before help could arrive. Due to the wrongful death of Cerol Typhoonmetals-Mirrorwasps in the first year of the fortress, caution tempered with mercy was urged for Cilob. First, a war leopard and war grizzly were assigned to her. Then 4 soldiers, including Commander Dishmab and Cilob's older sister, Kadol Lighttool, were stationed in the infirmary. Though werecreatures were known for their healing abilities, Cilob's wounds were too grievous to wait without treatment until the next full moon.



Cilob's treatment took 3 weeks, after which she was quarantined. The barrier wall was completed on the 7th of Timber, only a day before the full moon. Once the moon appeared on the horizon... nothing happened at first, but on the 9th of Timber, Cilob transformed. The war animals assigned to her were also in the quarantine room, as they could not be separated from her in time for the full moon. Both the leopard and grizzly immediately attacked after Cilob's transformation. The fight was fierce, but the grizzly landed the killing blow.
